Be sure and secure the set with a tie down, or cable. This will make sure it won't move too much. Have you tried watching the set with 3-D glasses? This might fix everything and bring it up to current 2015 specs.

Perhaps it's time for a new television?

Also, the problem is caused by the coating on the CRT cathodes becoming contaminated and losing emissions. The problem can normally be fixed, but at this stage it would probably cost less to purchase a new TV than to have this one repaired. Now piss off.

I want to watch the telly. I've been in England since 1991 and haven't ever worked. I get money from the government but they won't buy me a new TV plus I have to buy a TV licence.

Yes, I know the fix for this.
If you open the back of the television, just touch the large cylinder attached to the back of the tube, over time it accumulates stray photo energy, touching it allows it to be released back into the world. Make sure you are grounded though or the colour energy will forever be stuck inside you and you will become a 'person of colour' or POC as the media refer to them as, it's a debilitating disease and you will quickly find yourself with the inability to tell the truth or hold down a job or father. On the bright side you will get plenty of brand new televisions for free.
