it's a great camera, I started out with a lumix point and shoot back in the day. owned a canon and sony DSLR and a mirrorless panasonic. This is my favourite camera to use, goes with me everywhere everyday and has produced some of my favourite images. There are better cameras out there but not for the price, with the caveat that you like shooting with a fixed 35mm focal length you can't do much better unless you go film or full frame.

OP, you did a great purchase, they have cool film-simulation modes. I recommend buying an extra battery and a good strap. Don't try to do video with this thing, it sucks.

It's a great camera. A lot of people are actually switching over from DSLR's to them.

I just bought an x100s not too long ago because I didn't feel like carrying a gripped dslr and multiple lenses when I go out. The 35mm full frame equivalent lens is a bit wide and takes some getting used to but once you do, it's great. Film simulation on it is amazing, as are the colors you get right out of the camera.
