My Olympus OMD EM-5 Mark II is amazing, small, light and fast.
Micro 4/3 lenses are affordable, and most Olympus products are good quality as well.
A lot of people will tell you that the small sensor size is a major downside, but I haven't really experienced anything with it that bothers me. It's a little harder to get the depth of field and bokkeh that you can get with full frame, but the difference between any mid-range sensor is hardly noticeable.
In addition, the EM-5 II handles color and lighting really well. In my experience, the camera shoots well in any color temperature, though bluer tones don't look as good on the live preview. (They turn out really well in post, though.)
If you're a video guy, which I am, the EM-5 is solid for this as well. The stabilization is phenomenal.
I've used friends DSLRs, and I'd happily put my Olympus up there with anything short of a 5D Mark III. The controls on smaller Canon bodies are definitely a tad more intuitive, but once you get the hang of it, the Olympus can do pretty much anything you want.
