>>2643710i mean it's ok for bird watching
you'd probably be better off digiscoping though
otherwise any other camera is going to do a better job
the sensor is the size of my little toenail - it produces the noise and dynamic range you'd expect (loads and none)
the crummy motorized zoom (fuck these) stops down to like f/5 as soon as you increase the focal length from full wide
af sucks ass, a failing inherent in a superzoom's design (rubbish sensor means bad contrast AF, and no PDAF)
video is useless, AF, ZOOM and VR motors (which is the only ok thing on this camera) all make tons of noise which the internal mic picks up
you've got no choice in the matter because you can't operate focus or zoom by hand, and you cant use an external mic
the manual focus is controlled by a truly shit dial on the back (ffs i paid £200 for this and not a penny spent on product quality) and it is just simply unusable
the viewfinder is beyond arse (it's tiny an has no resolution at all)
live view isn't much better
the lens is rubbish (obviously, such an obscene zoom would be)
all of these faults (except the mic thing) will be inherent in every single superzoom
but the core thing is it'll take worse pictures than your p+s because of the lens from hell and the silly sensor design (16mp yet mobile phone sized)
please don't buy one of these dreadful things
find -any- other way of spending that amount of money on a different camera, don't be afraid to buy used
i am now shooting on a 35mm SLR with its 50mm prime
it was my mum's 30+ years ago
the IQ blows any superzoom out of the water
i wish i still had that money
