The sticks don't really go with the birds. It's cool that you included them, but they don't help the image.

Flash more birds. Flash them with gels over the flash against the sunset.

Even those images have birds in them, all the photos have birds, but the preceding images to the scenes are crops that set the viewer up for the wider image.

I've mocked them up on a wall, and when the large photos are printed large, the crops look pretty good as 8x10's or smaller.
