I totally agree with your statement, and there have been a lot of really great contributing tripfags over the years on this board. Hell, I was a tripfag for probably four years. This isn't a "ANON GOOD TRIPFAG BAD" argument, I'm merely saying that:
1) Using a permanent tripcode is antithetical to the entire philosophy of 4chan
2) Because of that, tripfags tend to attract a lot of negative attention (they also enjoy a disproportionate amount of positive attention as well, but that's for another thread)
3) This isn't unique to /p/ in any way, and thus isn't "the problem with /p/"
4) Rather, it is something endemic to the board culture of 4chan itself and not something that you can ever hope to change or "fix", ergo
5) Getting upset about it is folly.
