take picture of same thing three times using three different exposures and overlay them on your computer

honestly HDR is used to get a good dynamic range when your frame has harsh differences in lighting, 99% of all HDR images online are just used as fancy filters by people who can't take inherently interesting pictures

m00t implemented a new filtration system for the creative boards that scans your file and rejects shitty artwork. I think it looks for exposure, focus accuracy, and composition, as well as identifying whether there's a subject or not. It was in one of the more recent news posts.

Did you do any post processing after merging to HDR? I know people hate on overdone HDR, but the photo could use a bit more color and contrast.

you've got a bit of a halo on the left horizon and everything's a bit blue

try white-balancing to the shadows, maybe selective colour on the shadows and draw back the cyan and add black with the adjustment layer set to colour

might look a bit more natural that way

Only a small amount, i don't like overcooked. How you see it is pretty much how it is irl. Hdr was only used to get a bit of depth into the tunnel, rather than sear your retinas as some like to do.
