the entire plot is fucky as hell.
do you think a die-hard opportunist like schindler would be moved by witnessing a little lost girl in a red dress in midst a ghetto? from a mile away, whilst bathing in luxury and safety? its more than unlikely he would ever opt to even go within the visible range of a ghetto like this. he just got the opportunity to make the fortune of his life time.
the plot and moral argumentation is so awfully thin its painful to watch.
why do you think schindler is bancrupt at the end of the movie?
it surely isnt because he or his accountant are unable to manage expenditure vs. revenue.
- its because schindler knew his gestapo henchmen would take care of destroying all files that officially related the extent of industrial exploitation of humans and war crimes to those individuals who did profit in the past. the occupational forces will know who did profit from forced labor but never in detail to what extent they did profit. he knows the allies, in search for industrial war criminals, will gauge an industrials culpability by the extent of his wealth and their estimated usefulness to the german war effort prior to capitulation.
this and only this is the reason he produces faulty shell casings and other faulty supplies. Its also the only reason he makes sure there is no capital left over towards the end of the war and no exchange values that imply his firm may have made regular profit by exploiting forced laborers.
