When all the blacks are crushed it looks good, in my mind that should be reserved for scenes with strong light/dark contrast. This isn't one of them. Think of it this way: if you squint your eyes at the picture, can you still see what the picture is?
Also if someone else has an opinion on deep blacks as a function of the contrast of the scene as opposed to just a one-size-fits-all PP tool, chime in.
