When he gave it to me it had some piece of plastic from the sliding mechanism missing.
I then bought an xa and xa2 described as broken, for parts. threw out the xa2 since it really wasn't working, fixed the xa, took the part missing at my dads camera and then sold the other xa as tested for profit.
It's such a nice camera, very good quality for its size, my absolute fav for traveling.
i have the a16 flash laying around also, but i dont do much with it.
>SX70its a model 2, non sonar. the sonar versions are ugly in my opinion. it has a split prism so its magable to focus. i got that one, took it apart, got rid of a the dust and releathered it.
the impossible color film is okayish (i got the beta for the next emulsion). it seems like i cant get it right with that stuff (could also just be me).
their version 2.0 b&w stuff is gorgeous (quite contrasty and not a hell lot of DR, but gives nice results) i will stay away from color for another generation and only purchase the b&w film.
experimenting with this stuff and wasting frames can get as expensive as 4x5 wich is a bitter pill to swallow when you are trying to understand the cameras meter.
