Hey /p/, I got a Canon A1 for my birthday a couple months ago but it's broken. Of the 2 rolls of film I've shot with, almost all of the film was unexposed and shit. I don't really know what's wrong with it - the mirror was flipping up and the shutter was opening. It kept getting jammed up and was generally malfunctioning in multiply ways which, as a novice, I didn't understand.

Firstly, if anyone has had the same problem with the A1, I'm curious to find out what the issue was. Secondly, I'm going to uni soon and want a new film camera to take with me. Budget is preferably less than £100/$150. Could anyone rec a film camera which is good for a beginner and is reliable? I need it to work nicely and be quite simple to get to grips with.
