Don't forget to compliment all the individuals who designed the camera body/film/sensor/lens/tripod etc.
No but seriously, the photographer is not claiming to own the building or be responsible for its creation. They are responsible for properly photographing it, which is what's being appreciated when somebody compliments the image that the photographer took.
