Any of those photos would have been good with a really shitty camera. Great locations, natural lighting, perfect composition, etc. Now try the bokeh, image stabilization, super tele, 185 fisheye, dynamic range, low light situations.

Won't matter as long as people are stupid enough to take photos vertically. That and lack of optical zoom.

Though I can see phones killing the whole consumer camera market once they start adding optical zoom on phones as well.

Bait. The samples on the apple site have been compressed like hell, hence the rather meh-quality. Given the great capabilities of the camera module inside the 6/6+, the new one must be even better.

But then- things like four more megapickles and 4k video do not make me want to get a new iPhone at all. Apps like MoviePro and Ultrakam offer legit 4K video for iPhones like the 5s and up.

Gear doesn't make a great photo, it's the person who does.
Super tele and fisheye are valid uses for Manual lens cameras. Bokeh is so overdone by every fucking hipster, it's so uninteresting these days.

Do you think they'll ever release an iPhone with a removable lens and a 35mm adapter?

The vast majority of the remaining issues with the iPhone's camera could easily be fixed by adding some actual glass. There are currently 35mm adapters which fit over the top of the existing lens but they vignette like shit.

All this shows is that 90% of the time you don't need a $5,000 camera setup. If you notice though, as stated previously, there isn't a single photo with good bokeh (or any at all). Many of the pics aren't sharp because of sensor noise.
