Does anyone have experience with the new alpha series?
I just got one to replace my stolen nikon D5200 and I like it so far but wondered what would be good items to go with it.
what I have for it so far
Pedal hood for the PZ 16-50mm lens on a 40.5-52mm step up
HDX filter
UV filter
Protection "filter"
and a few soft light and circular diffusion lenses
nikon to sony e-mount adapter for all my leftover nikon lenses.

I do mainly abstract, concert, and portrait photography.

any suggestions, tips, things i should know, or input is greatly appreciated

the kit lens is pretty bad, they're nice and compact but i really recommend vintage lenses.

The 16-50mm is pretty bad. Get some better lenses.

Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8 and/or Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro.

Zeiss Sonnar 55mm f/1.8 or Sigma 60mm f/2.8 (only the latter is cheap)

Sony FE 28mm f/2 or a Sigma 30mm f/2.8

Lights. Monopod.

i know the kit lens is bad.
any lens ideas? i was used to nikon since it came out and before i was all pentax film shooting. so this is still a new world to me with the digital and the no viewfinder and such. just looking for some options on a good range of lenses to get fo a digital that i wouldnt have to zip tie and duct tape on and such haha.

i have a wide array of my pentax lenses and about 5 decent nikon lenses
whats a good and not too pricey tilt, fisheye, and tele lens?
if you dont mind my asking.

Sony is fairly popular around here atm, especially the a6000; great performing APS-C body at a good price. Native lenses for the system are a bit thin on the ground, but if you're happy to adapt other systems lenses (like your Nikon ones) you have a huge number of great lenses to choose from to suit most requirements & budgets.

Before buying anything new, I'd recommend you spend a while shooting with the kit you have, especially your Nikon lenses. See whether the adapted lenses function well enough for your shooting style (depending on the adapter, you might not have autofocus, aperture, etc.) & thus what, if anything, you actually need to buy.

The Sigma 30mm 2.8 is great & extremely affordable, I got one maybe 6 weeks back & it's been well worth the tiny pricetag.

I wouldn't know about that, I know it gets shit on a lot here.

I am quite content with my A7R, and adapt lenses to it.

My father used to be a photographer and used Minolta for shooting games/concerts. So I have 7 Minolta lenses in good condition so sony was my only option because it's the only modern digital camera that accepts those old lenses.
I bought an A77, it will be my first serious camera beyond film we shot together years ago and point and shoot digital cameras.

I'm excited for it to arrive

...you know that a UV filter on a digital camera is only good for protection since the sensor already filters UV, right?
