Distracting elements
Too much clutter in your frame
Subject much to small to be strong enough to carry the photo

One more because I forgot to ask a question.

I do not have any sort of image editing software, I just bought this camera used because it fit my fathers old Minolta lenses, so I have very little experience as a photographer.

Should I but Lightroom 6 , 5 , 4?
Or should I just torrent it
Or should I install Gentoo and use GIMP?
Or is there another option I'm unaware of?

Well thank you. It's a little bit soft but otherwise I think it came out pretty well, the sun was just at the right angle for some dramatic detail on the smoke.

What's that reflection on the left?
If the planes are all illuminated from the underside, where, the shadow on the bottom smoke trail coming from? Why the weird inconsistencies in the wingtip vortices? Show us DSC_0057 and 0059.

It's shit, I know.
Used an old Canon FD Macro lens. No adapter, just free hand. I'm currently waiting for the adapter to arrive, can't wait to get some nice and sharp macros.

I would have taken the shot anyway as it was interesting to me someone painted his own parking lot. While I was standing there setting my aperture and thinking about how to frame this, I saw that fat lady with the ugly dog coming and thought it was nice to have both in the frame as the breaking element. The white line clearly leads to the dog, but neither dog or human are part of the subject itself, they just happen to be there.

what? It's the link to LR CC a friend gave me.. if I got it for free, why wouldn't I share it?
Not sure if the crack works though, haven't used it for more than 30 days.. had to reinstall windows and got back to LR 5.7 as my GPU sucks and I couldn't make any use of the GPU support anyway.

You may want to increase your dof to capture both of the figures or decrease it to fully blur out the one in front. Right now part of the front one is in focus and part not and it looks by accident more than anything.

Yeah, same here. I have got an old Canon 50mm macro, but a Nikon D5200. Since I don't have an adapter yet, I have to just hold the Lens in front of the Camera's body. Almost impossible to get a sharp picture.

It was in New Zealand, they killed off huge swathes of trees using chemicals, this is the result. I've had to add micro-contrast and pump the general contrast to bring out the trees as they are pretty much flat pure whitish/gray in the raw.

I'm not a photographer. I picked up my mom's unused Nikon D5100 a few days ago and I'm still going over the basics.

that said, if you hadn't told me you were a new photographer, I wouldn't have known. I am on this board merely to build an inspo folder with the hope that I may start to pick up on some of the details that make for an interesting photograph. I found yours captivating enough to save.

Are you cancer? Could you not, you know, shoot wide open, aperture priority, auto ISO? Or shutter priority? Instead of wasting two stops of light on shutter speed, and another 1/3 to 1 stop of light on shooting at F5? 83mm, so about 120mm equivalent? Why are you shooting across the room with a telephoto in a restaurant? What were you hoping to capture?
