>>2677298you'll be wanting anything with some form of image stabilization
so that rules out all current fuji offerings (wait till next year for x100u and x40 updates), and the ricoh gr
leaves you with:
sony rx100(mk1,2,3)
canon g7x
panasonic lx100
the canon's stabilization is better than the sony's
but the sony mk3 has more useful features and isn't as annoying to use in some regards like the canon
canon has better OOC jpegs, especially in regards to colors
the fact that the sony can be usb charged for traveling from say a porta-battery vs canon's wall socket only is a plus for a small traveling cam
might not matter to you though
bounce flash sony vs fixed flash canon (although there is a very easy mod you can find on yourube that'll give you a bounce flash too)
worse battery life on canon
better video continuous autofocus on canon so if you're a faggot vlogger it's better for focusing on your fat and featureless face, sony will hunt more
sony will be at taking pics and manual focusing isn't annoying like with the can
more video recording options on the sony
but canon is much cheaper now, so if it's really just a seldom used compact then the sony might not be worth the extra 200+ or whatever
canon has much better build quality; sony less tight tolerances
basically, if there was a cam that combined the good things of both it would be awesome
but there isn't
so neither is awesome
best to get what fits your needs most.
know little about the lx100, cept that it's bigger that the latter two and thus wasn't part of my considerations
bigger sensor, 4k, should be better for video
other options:
pana lumix gm5 with kit lens - m43 interchange lens, teeny tiny model
gives you m43 camera to play with if you didn't already have one
olympus pen with a small lens you pick, also a m43 option - olym not traditionally good for video
money options:
sony rx-1/1r - 1r should be worse for video, fixed 35 lens
sony rx100m4 - souped up m3, same shit, slightly better, costs more
