The barrier of entry is lower than it has ever been. You could go drop thousands on a FF camera with a top of the line lens, having never used a camera before, not knowing any about the history of photography, and you'd be taking pictures in like 5 minutes.
That's not the problem though. The problem is when that person thinks they're good because of their gear. They mistake technical aspects of a photograph for creative skill.
I think Bruce gets this, as he even says that anyone can take a good photo, but to really create a body of work takes a lot of work.
I don't think this is the fault of liberals, but I do think this stems from a sense of entitlement. These people would generally call you an elitist, especially if you referenced something they didn't know.
