Terrible light is why most of these suck. Were you just at f/22 and max shutter the whole time in the desert and at the beach?
Also, square compositions don't do much for me.
Props for shotting old menelta though.
It makes me sad to think of all of these beautiful old cameras, capable of shooting magazine-cover-quality work even today, rotting on shelves while people spend thousands of dollars on lenses for their 16MP Fuji.
If you scan yourself, you should be able to get the sky back in the valley shot. Also I'd crop it to a vertical 4x5 ratio.
