But I thought with Fisheye lenses there would be a stronger distortion but most of those pictures don't have that right?

This was a test photo, the blanket is less than 1cm in front of the front element. Surprisingly sharp.

Mix of warping it out in some, and it being minimized in others by composition (centered horizon, for example)

the Samyang 8mm is special. It's not rectilinear but its...not as fishy as most fisheyes, either.

It's probably some manual focus lenses. Nikon exif goes stupid if the lens isn't chipped.
