Reviewers just like to show "light bubbles" because it's easier to compare them than a more even out of focus background.
Difference in bokeh is quite subtle unless you have a particularly shitty lens (*cough* Canon 50 f/1.8 *cough*) or a lens with an unusual design.
PS: For /p/lebs bokeh means depth of field.
