>>2712062 may very well be right that your current storage configuration may not be well suited for realtime playback in most NLE's @full res (you could also lower your viewing/playback resolution).
You may want to transcode to a proxy, and then relink the media to your source files (mpeg streamclip will do it).
I'd also advise (I'm assuming you're using a PC) to use DNxHD/transcode to DNxHD, because ProRes the Decoder for it is quite problematic.
>>2711083Used t2i/eosm/t3i & a kit lens (check eBay & Keh).
Grab that and a Tripod to start out (grab a decent one - spend at least $150 on it), if you want to continue - great, start making some decent lights (more guides out there than you can imagine), then get into all the other things. But you can make a lot with just a camera+lens, tripod, and lights.
To add onto what
>>2711753 mentioned, there's a ton more than just the camera, lighting & framing go a very long way (and they are the least expensive thing you can work on).
>>2710143Considering it, but I'd have to find a good reason (other than just wanting to) to motivate it's use story wise.
>>2710071It depends, what type of films are you aiming to make? Each camera has it's strengths & weaknesses, and may not be suited to what you want to make.
what trade are you most interested in?
If you're a director, grab the cheapest camera you can get, if you're a cinematographer - the blackmagic make sense, if you're not sure - wait and don't buy a camera quite yet (instead, especially since you're a student - borrow equipment from the school & have an actual budget for your films [crowdfunding is fine and all, but you'll learn far more by producing your own work with your own funds]).
