Hello, /p/. I've been meaning to purchase a beginner's camera for some now, and this morning I stumbled on an Olympus OM-1 with a 50mm lens, 135mm lens, a Rollei Beta 3 flash, a 49mm Polarizer, and some other odds and ends, all looking in extremely good condition, and all packaged together for $40 at a Goodwill. I decided to pick it up knowing I have a week to return it if it simply doesn't work.

My friend has some B&W film and we're going to test it out tonight. Was this a good purchase for starting out with film? I know it's not worth a lot more than what I paid, just from consulting eBay, but I really don't know what a credible source is for the value of cameras.

There also seems to be a roll of film inside it, but I have no idea how to operate this thing. I'm really interested to see what kind of shots are on here.
