Nikon D7100 and Macro Lens Compatibility

Hello everyone!

So I own a Nikon D7100, and I want to buy a Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro Lens for Nikon AF Cameras. I am wondering whether these two are compatible. I looked up a listing of compatible lenses, and I couldn't figure it out.

The Sigma lens is AF (Auto Focus? or kind of lens?) However, my camera is a DX. Any advice on this?

Of course they are. I bought this very lens for my d7100 a few hours ago. It's pretty fucking good.

Go on and get it, OP. DX only means that it has a crop (APS-C) sensor inside.

Your D7100 has the Nikon F mount. That's the only important thing you need to know when buying lenses.

Not relevant in this specific case, but if he's buying older lenses, he has to understand the difference between pre-AI and AI or AI Modified manual focus F-mount lenses.

The D7100 has the in-body AF motor. It's even got the aperture coupling for (AI) manual focus lenses, which is neat.
