>>2711233>How would you know?1) Mostly from my eight years here, three or four of them as a tripfag. I don't even know how many waves of nostalgia I've seen wash over this board at this point. We're currently in the "2012-3 was the best era ever!" phase, and I'm sure in two years we'll have a bunch of newfag retards who are going to say that "ISI WAS THE BEST TRIP EVER I MISS THE GOLDEN YEARS"
2) From compiling a flickr directory of this board from every flickr thread we had for eight months, and from actually visiting them. There were (and are) some heavy hitters who post here who were flying under the radar.
3) From visiting the tumblr and instagram threads rigorously. You should actually follow some of the links you don't recognize. You're in for a treat.
4) From seeing countless tripfags (myself included at several points) getting blown the fuck out in discussions of gear, technique and theory.
It's just the nature of 4chan that anyone who bucks convention and isn't anonymous is going to occupy a disproportionate mindshare of the constituency. It's human nature to assign personality to a name, and it makes it easier to assert a narrative of this board by associating personalities with posts (like your insistence that I must be a shitposting troll, for instance). It's a hell of a logical leap, however, to assume that the best and the brightest are naturally the ones who choose to identify themselves. That's some Ayn Rand shit.
