Do any of you take any extra precautions in rainy/snowy weather or extreme cold?

My camera body is weather sealed but my lenses are not

Is there anything I can do to further protect it against these things or should I not worry about it?

The coldness is nothing to worry about. But rain/snow might cause some problems. if you're on a budget, Make a hole in a plastic bag and cover your lens/camera with it. umbrella is also good but a bit cumbersome.

Minolta X-700, -20C or thereabouts, no protection save for the lens cap. Just threw the camera inside my jacket when passing through fan gun spray because that shit immediately covers everything. Still got the whole thing covered with the spray a couple times when I was careless, it didn't really give a shit, took it back inside and threw it in a shoe drier when I was done. Didn't seem to be affected by the temperature at all.

"Weather sealing" is a bunch of marketing horseshit and is impossible to quantify. Yes some cameras are obviously designed to be more hardy than others but in the end it's all just luck and no manufacturer has the balls to back up their claims of weather sealing with any hard facts or guarantees. You might be surprised at how much shit you can throw at a cheap entry level camera or you might be equally surprised when a high end pro camera with O-rings out the ass gets fried by a single properly placed raindrop. It's up to you to decide if the possibility to have some fun shooting in the rain and getting some good photos is worth the risk of killing your camera.

I`ve never protected camera from coldness, but my old 400D is satrting to shitt when its below -10c.
Few days ago i took this piece of shitt out, went to take pics of storm and shit, camera got saltwater all over, still works.
