Hey guys, im not too big on photography but my brother wants a Nikon D7100 for Christmas, I dont have a whole lot of cash right now and I seen that I could get a factory refurbished one for $200 less, are factory refurbished usually okay or should I just buy a lower quality but new camera? I'm not tech savvy myself but from what I know about all other products I've had, factory refurbished means it has been taken back to the factory that produces the original cameras, fixed, gone through checks and made sure it's up to the standard of a brand new camera without any faults.

Refurbished cameras are like brand-new ones. They usually are demonstration models from (press) events, workshops or general returns like "I got this D7200 for my daughter but it's too big for her hands. I'd like to return it and get another, smaller camera instead.".

I for one have never had any issues when it comes to refurbished electronic devices.
