>>2852413I've stopped editing on my laptop for exactly this reason. I invested in a really nice monitor for my desktop and made a color profile for it and use that for each of my edits.
there are tons of different ways to color correct and everyone will argue their way of doing things is the only way but I've found success with the following:
unless conditions are extremely unfavorable, shoot RAW and with auto white balance on. in your raw editor of choice select the profile (daylight, cloudy, shade, etc)
then in Photoshop create a levels layer and for each channel individually (red green and blue), drag the high or low slider in towards the bulk of the histogram. there are some good video tutorials on layer masks in general but the color correction ones definitely made a difference in my editing.
