I agree with you that the editing of the whites of her eyes is real close to going overboard, but in my opinion, it's just right. Half a stop up from the rest of the image.
How I had to shoot "3.jpg" was impossible to avoid the railing in the foreground.

My friend was helping me practice at getting better taking portraits, most so I can do those lame Senior Photos for money in the future. I've had quite a few photoshoots, but I'm still not ready to ask people for money.
