This will be out of the realm of most of you /p/ros though some of you are quite knowledgeable.
I recently went from 120 (6x6) to 4x5 and now need a way to scan the LF film (DSLR scans don't cut it when it comes to the prints I am doing). The closest shop with a drum scanner is 1000km away and the local guy has gotten out of the biz after his machine went down.
I have a guy who is willing to sell me his drum scanner and teach me how to use it.
Locally there would be about 5-10 clients who shoot LF and scan to print, that could potentially help to justify the cost of maintenance and ownership of such a machine.
Is this the stupidest idea ever?
