>Really and how do you do that if you have a kit lens with no infinity symbol you just snap a bunch of pictures wasting your shutter count's till you get it right?First off if you're worried about "wasting your shutter count" on fucking 10 test photos, you should probably just give up on photography now. Most entry level DSLR's have a shutter rating of 100 000+ actuation's, and will usually live far longer than that.
Secondly yes, you go outside at night and take 10+ test pics, find where infinity is (or wherever your stars are sharpest) and then you fucking mark that point on your lens with a pen or whatever. That way when you go out on an actual shoot, all you have to do is turn your focus ring to that mark and you'll know your shit will be in focus. Seriously man, use some common sense.

>I don't see the point in paying $300+ on a lens if the camera is gonna break down I mean DSLR's are like expensive disposable cameras in my view I mean I have computers and computer parts that have long out lasted being able to be used for anything other than Windows 98.Stop assuming your camera is suddenly going to die on you in the next week. A camera can last 10+ years if you treat it well, and if the shutter does eventually die then you can have it replaced.
Here's a news flash buddy, photography is an expensive hobby/profession, if you're unable to accept that then take up bird watching or something.
