>>2895794>The London meetup was widely regarded as the beginning of the end for this board. Bullshit. I was at the London /p/ meetups, they were complete successes. Photographs were taken, numbers were exchanged and fun was had by all involved. I still keep in contact with several attendees.
Having spent maybe 7 or 8 years on /p/ now, I can tell you that its changing character is not due to some elements going out and meeting each other in real life. /p/ has actually changed very little in realistic terms. I would say that it has become slightly more effete with its critiques which, once upon a time, were beyond cruel and degrading. A great deal of the childish comedy has disappeared from the board, replaced with the stiff adult seriousness of a cast which evidently grew up. Where now are the Nikon D40x jokes? That fucking cat? The Mamiya tank? Photographer mode? all gone.
We lost all of the tripfags too - no one remains except those who had the tenacity to weather every shitstorm, for years, despite every type of abuse, including death threats!
/p/ isnt the wild west it once was. If you want it to be again, you will have to make it so. YOU will have to post ridiculous shit over and over, YOU will have to annoy people until they rage, YOU will have to obliterate people in the critiques, YOU will have to spend precious minutes of your life photoshopping a ducks head into someones photo.
If /p/ is not what you want it to be its BECAUSE OF YOU. Put in the time and others will follow, OTHERS will commit. If you dont care about the board the board will be shit. GO out and meet people, post photos, post tits, post your belly button. DO something. Make them mad, its funny.
