>>2963164>super 35 sensorI like being able to get a set of pretty good primes that open up to .95, and still have enough DOF to not be swimming in mush when I'm pulling my own focus. Same advantages of shooting super 16.
>global electronic shutter, like 5-6 more stops of dynamic rangeI would love those things, but if you can't tell a story without them and make a pretty good image too, an Alexa won't help.
>genlock, timecode, sync, sdi outIf you have the need for multiple preview monitors, a timecode slate, etc, you're at a budget range where you're just gonna rent a camera package anyways.
>phantom powered xlr inputsSo... you wanna make the camera operator mix your sound in camera, just like the pros?
>modularityBig pain in the ass. Nobody actually likes Red's stupid brick bodies, we just put up with them.
>electronic oled viewfinderIt has that, and with focus peaking it's pretty good.
Stamping your feet about how you can only do good work with an Epic with a set of Cooke primes is as silly as saying a full cinema camera has no advantages over a 2000 dollar mirrorless hybrid.
And I guarantee you've seen movies where DSLR footage was intercut with Epic or Alexa material and never knew the difference.
