you can even use some crop prime lenses on full frame but you'd have to double check if they can provide the full image circle on a larger sensor

Nah, you need to use them on a more expensive DSLR.

Needs to be a prime camera, Full frame sensor or higher. Medium format works too but they only take medium format lenses. There's no such thing as APS-C primes, there's like almost none made for brands that matter.

Even if they don't provide the full image circle, there are FF cameras that will just automatically crop to the equivalent APS-C image circle when you put on an APS-C lens unless that feature is turned off.

The focal length increases by the factor of the sensor.

Build quality, widest aperture size, cost.

Here is a BROtip: Old film camera prime lenses can be used on mirrorless cameras with an adapter. If you have a full frame camera you will get exactly the same focal length as the film camera.

You can have two of three, or a lot of all tree if you are willing to pay:
Wide aperture
Big zoom range
Sharp

By eliminating the zoom altogether you have an option to make a lens that has a wide aperture and is sharp, and for a decent price! The plastic fantastic is a good example.

Really? Like which cameras? Not that I'd really have any use for a feature like that, but it's still nice to know.

Speaking of lenses and full frame/crop cameras, Tony Northrup claims that often crop sensor lenses (used on a crop sensor body) will produce better results than using a full frame lens on a crop sensor body. True or BS?
