Comp could be improved to get either more students in the frame, or fewer, doing away with the gap above the right front guy's head and maybe introducing more background interest than wintertime windows.

Otherwise, not all that bad. I've done Aikido myself, a long time ago, and the picture covers quite well how the day's practice works when some high-ranking skirtypantsman comes visiting. Processing could hide ISO noise better.

Yes they are, look at the histogram.
The highlights are nowhere near the upper zone where they act as actual highlights but still retain all the detail. It is not a visual style either, simply underexposed. Can be saved in post but seeing all that noise I doubt it could be any cleaner.
Fucked up at the time of the exposure, you should go back to take the shots again. But do it right this time!

I know you sit in your moms basement in the dark so it might look immensely bright to you but to the normal part of the world the brightest parts are just dull grey.
