I want to start taking pictures of paintings and artworks for monies. Will a grey card work for getting accurate white balance for accurate color under strobes?

Get a color target. Also unless you're using high end lights expect them to wander a little bit in their output. Take a photo of the card for every damn picture and check it. Like, I've shot a lot of art and color shift drove me bonkers until I found out alien bees can shift through out the shoot.

bullshit. targets are for scanner. you calibrate a camera to grey, not color. retards. also you stack your pictures and have a decent post routine. you horrible amateurs, what's wrong with you?
