>>3010048Its a crappy start. I lucked out and got a job at a production house with litterally zero experience and learned as I went. But now that Im on my own (left the company) I've been doing music videos for next to nothing. But all the money I do make, I keep it separated from my other money, and reinvest it in new gear that will help me get better gigs. Sometimes clients will even give you some good stuff other than payment like gear thats relevant to what you need, like Mics and stuff.
When you're shooting the cheap jobs, just keep in mind that you'll want to be getting the best shots possible (like im sure you do) to include in your reel to show off to future clients. So even if you arent getting paid great for a job, there still is a real benefit to you taking the work.
You'll probably also need to get a few other people that are willing to work with you, most real shoots cant be done with one person depending on the content being filmed.
One way to get some work is go to trade shows. Bring a stack of business cards and hand them out. You can get a TON of work that way by talking face to face with hundreds of companies. I think that would be the best way to get consistent work doing video production
