>>3016106>gargantuanNot really, the sony 28, 35, 50, 55 are tiny, the 2 grand pro lenses are not.
The f4 zooms are also comparitively small compared to canikon.
There's then the zeiss loxia range and voigtlander which are much more akin to old rangefinder lenses (tiny)
The zeiss batis range are fairly normal sized and stunning.
>not many interesting lensesPlz, look at the above ranges, there's also the new tokina firin, samyang autofocus lenses, the sigma dn range for aps-c e mount, the techart leica mount adapter that adds autofocus to ANY old lens, sony have also got 6 lenses on their roadmap for the first half of 2017.
Not to mention native performance of all a mount glass with an adapter, native performance of all sigma mount and sigma branded canon mount lenses with the sigma mc11, almost native performance of all canon lenses with a metabones/mc11 adapter. "dumb" adapters for every other mount available, tilt-shift adapters so you can use a standard canikon lens with added tilt/shift. Tools in camera to assist focusing and exposure with old/adapted glass.
Fe mount is a lens fetishists dream.
>oly glass is sharp enoughBare this in mind, no lens on the market outresolves the sensor it's on (sony a7s excluded), the limiting factor to sharpness is always going to be the glass, the smaller the sensor, the more those imperfections will be magnified. Hence why shots on full frame have a crispness and pop you don't see from the smeared fine detail on a smaller sensor.
the pixels on sonys 24mp ff sensor are 137% larger than those on the 24mp crop sensor, if you want comparable sharpness on the crop sensor you need a lens that resolves 137% more detail, which, short of creating a new glass like material, isn't going to happen. Average lenses on small sensors look shite, but are fine on ff.
Crop/m43 is a false economy due to having to buy amazing lenses for ok quality.
