>>3031512You're an idiot, my man. As long as it has PASM modes, it's a perfect tool for learning. I wouldn't recommend film to any beginner that didn't already get their feet wet playing with manual on a digital camera. Telling beginners to buy get into film in order to learn has got to be the most sadistic, dinosaur thinking. Film is now the realm of enthusiasts that know how or are willing to learn how to get quality prints/scans out of their film. You seem to forget that when we older generation started with film, our intro to photography included darkroom and chemicals. not to mention cheap as shit drugstore dev (That's why photography classes that teach with film include developing and printing as part of the course with little to no cost to the student, OP clearly doesn't have these resources)
>muh sensor sizeHoly shit fuck off. NO ONE needs to go aps-c/ff on their first purchase. You'd be surprised how good compact sensor IQ can be. You'd have to stay at base ISO for sure, but film wouldn't be an improvement over that.
People's first photography investment should be a camera that requires no further body or lens investment, because any other money you put into photography should be put into lighting equips, tripod, or saving fund to get an actual camera if you decide it's where you want to go. Bridge cameras are perfect because they have such a wide range of focal lengths available to experiment with, no need to start gearfagging just yet.
Honestly, image quality is over-rated because the gap in quality between compact sensor and bigger sensors has gotten much smaller. After you learn how to properly operate a camera, your concentration should be on the art of photography and how to take better photographs, not pixel peeping garbage like this fucking cunt
