Wow nice score OP. I paid 135 for mine in mint condition with 35 2.8 lens. Bought it on the road in Little Rock, AR. Good job. You practically stole that thing. You're gonna love it.
FE, is one of the greatest Nikon 35mm's made. Fully automated exposure plus manual and it does aperture priority too. It's 99% of the features of the F3 without the F3 tax. You will want to replace the seals for it, you can DIY it's easy.
I highly recommend this guy
http://www.kyphoto.com/classics/sealreplacement.htmlHis seal kits are legendary in the film business. I bought his famous Mamiya RB67 kit and several of this Nikon seal kits, very highly recommended. Jon Goodman. Hit him up.
Lenses, whatever it came with is probably fine. Nikon glass ain't cheap but you can find deals on it. None of the AF lenses made recently will work but any AF lens with a manual aperture will work on it, I've been using a 35/2, 50 1.8 and 85 1.8 AF with much success. Anything manual focus will work on it, all the way back to 1959, those are called Pre-AI there's a metering lever you flip up, set your exposure and stop down to meter. This guy has a good write-up on how to use it.
http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/fe.htmShoot Tri-X film it has tons of exposure latitude and you can fuck it up nice and still have a usable image. It's cheap too, and best of all American-made. The FE does require a battery to shoot with, it's 2 button cells they're about 3 bucks a set I believe. BatteriesPlus will have them, Wal-Mart has them and any old school camera shop does too.
have fun, post negative scans from your first roll
