>>3060279>>30602781. Too many distractions to look like a real portrait; the white notice board, the thermometer, the logo on the subjects t-shirt, the ugly doorframe, even the background has some metal scaffolding peaking through. Plus the subjects posture is noticeably awkward, when someone is leaning like that in a doorway they would usually be bracing or leaning their weight forward a little. You should be able to see this in the subjects posture but instead I'm just seeing noodle arms up like a monkey. It's not flattering. The angle of light is catching on his shoulders, ear, hair, neck, everywhere but his face.
2. You did a better job of isolating the subject against the green leafy background BUT this whole shot is underexposed. And why is there is a random hairy leg just sticking up from out of the frame? The subjects half-pursed smirk isnt very flattering either as that little shadow by his lip exaggerates the puffiness of his cheeks (as it would for anyone).
In general there aren't many redeeming qualities of these two photos except that they're sharp and somewhat moody. If you want to do portraits you have to do a much better job with lighting, composition, and posing. So basically everything.
