It's a lot of fine detail with nothing to focus on, so your eyes just wander around taking in all the info at once.

The light in these is pretty flat. They would make more sense to the eye if the light was a little more directional/angled.

This is better, not just because there's more macro details, but because there's more variation in color and light and texture. It's still not quite what I'd consider a pleasing composition (it feels like a crop of a larger photo), but it's getting there.

No subject isolation. The subject (i am assuming the tree) blends in with the background making your eyes navigation of the image slow and unnatuaral. Try to blur the background a bit with a fast lens.
