This is a pretty standard problem with night time photography, especially in a rural area away from concrete. So you kind of need to pre-heat your gear if you want to take more than 10-20 minutes worth of pictures. Once your lens reaches the dew point temperature shit is going to fog up in no time.
So heat up your gear inside or heat your gear with your car heater on the way to the site. They also sell 12V heats that run off your car, and are over priced for what they are.
