Maybe I'm an outlier, but I took out loans in college to buy a car and buy camera gear. Now I'm running a successful wedding videography business.
But, it was the only choice I had. I grew up dirt poor. Dad was dead, his death benefits were like 212 bucks split between 4 kids. And my mom was disabled.
So when other kids were having cameras bought as Christmas gifts, or their dads were helping them buy cars, I went without.
Maybe that made me work harder because now I'm more successful than some of those kids I grew up with.
I think for most normal people, don't take a loan out for stuff like that, but if it is your only choice and it will benefit you, then do it.
I know OP is a troll post, but if you have a plan you know won't fail, and you have the business savvy and skills to pull this off it doesn't matter. I wouldn't take a loan out for a hobby though. That is just fucking stupid.
