the g12 or g10 has a really nice ccd sensor that takes amazing photos as long as theres enough light.

Forget about that garbage, canon can't innovate and will soon go bankrupt like fuji and nikon. You should buy full frame Sony a7Rii or a9 and the G-Master lenses with it. There's no reason to buy compact cameras with tiny sensors anymore when you can get full frame cameras at almost the same price and size. If you can't afford atleast an a7Rii, you should get the Sony a6500 for now, save up a month or two and then upgrade.

dont listen to our resident losers. the canon G line is strong and feel like real cameras, more than any of these sony or fuji toys for girls and effeminate cucks.

i had the G10 and made CCD kino with it.

It got run over by a car. The only thing damaged was the wheel on the back. It was well out of warranty but Canon fixed it for US$100. While they were fixing it they called me up and said "The shutter is pretty worn, would you like us to replace it?" er ... how much will that cost? I asked. "Oh no extra charge, we have a spare and we'd like to replace yours if that's okay."

You won't get that level of service out of Siny. Not even for their 'pro' camera.

I also have a G1X ii. It has a whopping 1.5 inch 12 mp sensor. If the focussing was a bit snappier it would be the perfect point and shoot. The focus might not be an issue for you, depends on what you like to shoot
