Jokes aside, 1/800s is mandatory even for perched ones because they move in twitches, 1/1000 and higher is highly recommended.
Sadly Canon still gives its old iso variant sensor for their rebel series, but iso 800 and 1600 should be still usable. You just need to get closer and use fill flash to get more controlled light in the shadows.
A bit of grain is much better than motion blur. Search "paradigm shift in bird photography" on youtube and start saving up for at least an 80d or switch system to a d7200.
