I actually like this crop the best. It attempts to tell a narrative. He the van is where this guy clearly might live with the shades in the van windows. so cropping it makes it more obvious this is his home, on the street

I took your idea. Rotated the image to make it flat. The main issue with this photo is making his mages-tic white beard pop while keeping the white saturation of the van to a minimum to stop it from stealing attention and light from the subjects beard
