Just think in whole stops, man. Leave it at the lowest native ISO (you'll know because if you try to set it lower it'll say "L1.0" on Nikon) possible that will still allow you to shoot at 1/60.
You want 1/125 to 1/250 to freeze people walking, but if people are just standing there you can get away with to 1/30 to 1/60. If you need a faster ISO than the lowest ISO to achieve these shutter speeds, then and ONLY then should you change it. And even then, you should only change your ISO in full stops.
