All the engineers are long since retired or work for the competition. It's not like they've all been sitting at the Polaroid factory waiting to make film for the first time in fifteen years and all they needed is an excuse.

Polaroid is dead and has been for a while. What exists now is a name and a logo, nothing else.

the chemical plant wasnt just turned off, it was shut down, scrubbed, dismantled etc and all the recipie sheets destroyed. IP has to relearn it all from scratch

Why did they think this was a good idea? Literally no one wanted a new instant camera, they all want to use their vintage shit. What people want is film that works like it should and the reintroduction of pack film.

Thy just waisted a shit load of capital on rebranding and a shitty plastic camera. They didn't actually fix any of their problems. Looks like another humiliation for the Polaroid brand.

Or "Polaroid Originals" if we go by the website they created. Also, 16€ for i-Type and 19€ for 600 and SX-70 feels a little bit more palatable than the 22€ the IP packs have been going for.

The equivalent size from Fuji (instax square) is like 12€ for 10-packs. 1,2€ per photo against 2€ (16€ for an i-type 8-pack) is hard to swallow. Different markets and all that, but let's see what's the actual street price when this stuff reaches retail.
