Hi,

I want to start doing moody portraits (yes I know, 2edgy4me) and it's done to death, but I want to learn those techniques.

I have an A6000 with the following lenses:
smc 50mm 1.4 m42
50mm 1.7 pentax lens
a couple of 28mm 3.5 lenses (soligor, beroflex, pentax smc)
16-50mm sony kit lens 3.5-5.6
70-200mm f4 pentax lens
35mm 1.7 cctv lens
60mm sigma 2.8

With moody portraits most have a shallow depth of field, what minimum aperture do you recommend? Also lightroom settings? Seems like most are shot wide open and then darkened after in post.

Any tips to get me started?
