Ektar 100 is a decent print film for landscapes.

Why are you worried about a bad exposure though? You can download a light meter app for your phone and they all work pretty well, offering spot metering too. Just expose for the highlights and use a graduated ND filter if you need to.

I read that slide is supposed to have a big margin of error, ie you miss the exposure a bit and you are fucked with nodetails

So long as you meter properly and aren't memeing into the sun you should be good. The biggest issue with positive film is blown highlights. You're less likely to crush blacks like in negative film.

Anyways, buy a roll and try it. You should be able to get it for around 9-10 us dollars for a 135-36 assuming you're shooting 35mm. Remember to meter properly and you might have found your new favorite film stock. Only one way to find out.

If you're in the US it's 8.50/roll unmounted for 135/120 e6 processing, which isn't too bad.
